You might know exactly which rooms need painting, or simply have a finish you are tired of seeing. Start there. The full service list includes smaller detailed work, wallpaper removal before repainting, rental turnovers and ordinary commercial projects.
There is no need to choose a paint brand, finish every measurement or prepare a drawing before you enquire. A brief description and your city or ZIP code let you explain what you would like changed.

What belongs in your painting quote
A price is more useful when you can see what it buys. “Paint the living room” might mean walls alone, or walls, ceiling, baseboards, window trim and doors. Repairs and furniture handling may also differ between estimates.
| Part of the job | A useful detail to agree |
|---|---|
| Surfaces | Which rooms, walls, ceilings and trim are included? |
| Preparation | What will be cleaned, repaired or smoothed? |
| Finish | Which product and sheen suit each surface? |
| Access | Who moves furniture and protects the room? |
| Completion | What is checked, cleaned up and handed back? |
The Painting Contractors Association preparation standard distinguishes work needed for adhesion from more extensive appearance improvements. A color change does not automatically include making an uneven wall perfectly smooth.
Our painting cost guide explains the main estimate differences. For a side-by-side review of written offers, use the quote comparison guide.
Columbia homes: match preparation to the surface
Columbia’s historic design guidance treats wood, brick, stone and metal as different materials. That distinction matters even before color is discussed: a painted porch rail, previously coated brick and bare masonry do not call for the same preparation or finish decision.
The Maury County hazard plan also records residential growth. Painting in this area is not all old-house restoration. On sound newer walls, the decision may be about wear, cleaning and sheen; on an older exterior, the first question may be which original materials and coatings should be retained.
A guide cannot establish your building’s age or condition. If the property is in a protected historic district, the historic-property painting guide explains the local checks, including important masonry and district-specific distinctions.

How to request a painting quote
Send your name, callback phone, city or ZIP code, and a short description through the quote form. Email is optional. A useful starting message could be: “I want the downstairs rooms repainted, including the trim,” or “The exterior finish is peeling on one side of the house.”
Columbia Painting Quotes is an independent referral website. We review enquiries and may share them with an independent painting provider; referral compensation may be received. You decide whether to proceed, and the provider sets its own availability, scope, price and work terms. A request does not guarantee a response or appointment.
You can also use the planning guides while deciding. Reading them is optional, and nothing needs to be completed before you ask.
